Dr Emily Dearsley
Veterinarian

Dr Emily was born and raised in Adelaide and graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2019 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to studying veterinary science, she completed a bachelor's degree in psychology, which continues to inform her compassionate, holistic approach to patient care.
Emily enjoys all aspects of small animal work but has a particular passion for caring for hospital patients, practising fear-free handling, and creating low-stress experiences for both pets and their people. She has a special interest in palliative care and finds deep fulfilment in supporting senior pets and their families through the later stages of life with dignity, empathy, and comfort.
In addition to her clinical work, Emily is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of vets and works as an academic tutor at the University of Adelaide, supporting Veterinary Bioscience and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students. Emily also contributes to animal welfare at a broader level through her role as a board member of South Australia's Dog and Cat Management Board, helping to shape policy and promote responsible pet ownership across the state.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys walking, reading, travel, and spending quality time with her family, friends and furry-babies.
